The Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre (CVRep) will follow up LOVE, LAUGHTER AND LUNACY, which stars Broadway Veterans Alix Korey, Janene Lovullo and Sal Mistretta and runs June 27-29, with two more exciting cabaret offerings - BUBBLEGUM's ANONYMOUS - CHEW ON THIS!, a tribute to the music of the 50's, 60's and 70's starring Gilbert Rixxo, July 18-20, and HE LOVES AND SHE LOVES, starring Erica and Brent Schindele, August 9 and 10.

Internationally renowned recording artist, music icon, actress and humanitarian, Sarah Brightman, is forced to cancel her August 10 appearance at The Show at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage. Brightman is the world's biggest selling soprano, an international superstar as beloved for her staggering vocal range (over three full octaves) as for her impassioned film and stage performances. Over a three-decade career, she's sold over thirty million records worldwide, is the first artist to have been invited twice to perform the theme songs at the Olympic Games, and is frequently credited with pioneering the Classical Crossover genre, allowing music once reserved for conservatories and concert halls to seep onto the pop charts.

The Palm Springs International Film Society's Short Fest will debut a new documentary - 'Hollywood In The Desert Sky; A Conversation With Photographer Michael Childers' today, June 18 at 2:00 pm at The Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs. 'All my life I've been photographing some of the great artists of my time,' says Childers. Internationally renowned for his portraits of pop culture icons, Childers spent a lifetime of collecting art with the late John Schlesinger, Oscar-winning director of 'Midnight Cowboy' and many other films of note including 'Marathon Man' and 'The Falcon and the Snowman.' They were partners for 37 years and that life culminated in an art collection that filled their Rancho Mirage home.

Performances are Todays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. In this very unique, original, and funny show, three members of the North American Lady Organists Guild (NALOG) spread their Gospel as 'The Stops,' an Andrews Sisters-esque trio of different faiths united in their love of song. 'Ginny', 'Euglena', and 'Rose' perform a benefit concert for their mentor Dale Meadows, a church music director and songwriter recently ousted from his tabernacle because of his sexuality (he's gay!)

Beginning Saturday, June 28th, Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs will begin a new “Dinner and a Movie” Film Series - bringing some of the biggest blockbuster movies ever to hit the Big Screen back to the BIG Screen! “We plan to present a favorite blockbuster movie every Saturday night,” said Camelot Theatres Manager Matt Christensen. “Most of these films are available on DVD, but let's face it. These films were made to be seen on the big screen and there's just nothing quite like seeing them that way. Even better, they've all been digitally remastered, and feature full theatre quality sound, so the experience is going to be really magical.”??

Peter and the Starcatcher, a grown up's prequel to Peter Pan, is the innovative and imaginative musical play based on the best?selling novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. A company of a dozen actors play more than a hundred unforgettable characters, all on a journey to answer the century?old question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Never Grew Up? The 2013/2014 National Tour of the musical The Addams Family, based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will make its McCallum Theatre premiere, as part of the Rabobank Broadway Blockbuster Series, for five performances, tonight, March 14, through Sunday, March 16. The Addams Family, which began performances on Broadway in March 2010 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and ran through December 2011, immediately became one of Broadway's biggest hits. Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune described the production as 'classic, full-tilt, fast paced, old-fashioned musical comedy!' and John Simon of Bloomberg News called it 'Uproarious! A glitzy-gloomy musical entirely worthy of the macabre drawings by Charles Addams.'

The live show with post-performance VIP reception will take the audience back in time to radio's golden age of the 1940s and 1950s with all of the stage gimmicks in tact including sound effects created right on stage, applause signs-and even commercials with original jingles for the modern-day companies sponsoring the special event. The radio shows to be vividly recreated are 'The Bickersons,' 'Sherlock Holmes,' and 'My Favorite Husband.' Macleod, best know for his stint helming THE LOVE BOAT, and Buifant, known for her many recurring television roles including a long running stint on MATCH GAME, are paired once again as husband as wife in 'The Bickersons', one of several hilarious radio recreations that evening.

Cabaret Icon Michael Feinstein returns to the McCallum Theatre with his highly anticipated "The Gerswhins And Me" for two performances - Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 at 8:00 pm. Michael Feinstein, the multi-Platinum, two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy nominated entertainer dubbed "The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook," is one of the premier interpreters of American standards. His 200-plus shows a year have included performances at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood Bowl, the White House and Buckingham Palace. I had the chance to catch up with Michael as he was preparing for his Palm Desert engagement, Here are a few excerpts from that conversation:

The McCallum Theatre presents Gene Kelly - The Legacy, An Evening with Patricia Ward Kelly on Wednesday, March 5, at 8:00pm. Gene Kelly became one of the top stars of the 1940s and 1950s. He didn't just act, sing, and dance; he also served as choreographer and had a major impact on dancing in the movies. Biographer and film historian Patricia Ward Kelly takes audiences behind the scenes and shares an intimate story of her late husband Gene Kelly, the man who helped create some of the most memorable scenes in film history. This unique, live performance combines rare and familiar film clips, never released audio recordings, memorabilia, and personal insights culled from hours of interviews with her husband. I had the chance to chat with Ms. Kelly for a few minutes about this very special theatrical event celebrating the life and career of this legendary dancer, performer and director.
