The McCallum Theatre presents Jeffrey Siegel and Keyboard Conversations® in "The Miracle of Mozart" on Monday, January 23, at 7:00pm. In this special program, Mr. Siegel will be joined by the McCallum Theatre Chamber Orchestra, 36 of the best Los Angeles-based musicians. In addition to playing and speaking about Mozart and his music, Mr. Siegel will also conduct the Orchestra. The evening's program features two of Mozart's most-loved works, the C Major Concert, No. 21, K. 467 for Piano and Orchestra (Elvira Madigan) and the D Minor Concerto, No. 20, K.466 for Piano and Orchestra.

The McCallum Theatre and Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald present Storm Large and Le Bonheur, as part of the Fitz's Jazz Cafe series, for two performances on Wednesday, January 25, at 8:00pm and Thursday, January 26, at 8:00pm.Storm Large - musician, actor, playwright, author, awesome.  She shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show "Rock Star: Supernova," where despite having been eliminated in the week before the finale, Storm built a fan base that follows her around the world to this day.

Some people roll their eyes when you mention the musical ANNIE. But, I tell you what. ANNIE never disappoints. It is not Sondheim. It is not Hamilton. It is not Pasek and Paul. But -the book is strong - the laughs are genuine and plenty. The lyrics are clever and the melodies as singable as they come. This production of ANNIE is far from perfect - but it is still a pretty perfect little musical! It is a "leave your troubles at the door" evening in the theatre and an optimistic antidote to any depression you might be feeling in this rather volatile political climate. There are just two performances remaining in the Coachella Valley, but it would be worth your time to drop whatever you're doing and snatch up the limited remaining tickets. 

Back by popular demand for a third season, the McCallum Theatre presents Palm Springs Legends III and the Legends Orchestra on Sunday, January 15, at 3:00pm. The top tribute artists honor the iconic stars who lived, and spent time, in the Palm Springs area - the legendary stars that made Palm Springs the place to be!

The McCallum Theatre welcomes Rick Springfield and his "Stripped Down" solo acoustic tour on Wednesday, January 18, at 8:00pm. Rick Springfield has never settled for doing just one thing. Over the past three decades, he has worn many hats as an entertainer and performer. The creator of some of the finest power-pop of the '80s, he's a Grammy winning singer, songwriter and musician who has sold 25 million albums and scored 17 Top 40 hits, including "Jessie's Girl," "Don't Talk to Strangers," "An Affair of the Heart," "I've Done Everything for You," "Love Somebody" and "Human Touch." 

The McCallum Theatre welcomes the return of Jay Leno for two performances on Saturday, January 21, at 3:00pm and 8:00pm. Acclaimed TV late night show host, admired stand-up comedian, best-selling children's book author, much-in-demand corporate speaker, lovable TV and movie voice-over artist, pioneering car builder and mechanic, and philanthropist…it's no wonder that Jay Leno has always been widely characterized as "the hardest working man in show business."

The McCallum Theatre and Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald present Vanessa Williams, as part of the Fitz's Jazz Cafe series, on Saturday, January 14, at 8:00pm.From Broadway to Hollywood, Vanessa William is an icon. After becoming the first African-American Miss America, she went on to slay the music business, before making us laugh in shows such as "Ugly Betty" and "Desperate Housewives." With 11 Grammy nominations and three Emmy nominations, you know you're in the presence of an impressive diva!

Dezart Performs will present the uproariously funny black comedy, Clybourne Park, a 2012 Tony Award-winning play written by Bruce Norris with a two-weekend engagement January 13-22, 2017 at the Pearl McManus Theater, located at the Historic Palm Springs Woman's Club. As described by The Washington Post during the 2011-12 season of the Seattle Repertory production, the play 'applies a modern twist to the issues of race and housing and aspirations for a better life….and is one of its feistiest, funniest evenings in years.'

The McCallum Theatre and The City of Rancho Mirage present The Highwaymen - A Musical Tribute on Friday, January 13, at 8:00pm. Perhaps the greatest super group in country music history, the original Highwaymen, formed in 1985, consisted of Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. This tribute (with Willie, Waylon and Johnny) to that amazing, never to be seen again, band continues the legacy. You will witness first-hand the friendship and comradery that existed between these legends, reliving one of the greatest moments in country music history. Combining their unique approaches to life and recording, they travel the world performing country music to millions of fans.

The only American ever invited to join Australia's The TEN Tenors, Chad Hilligus makes his McCallum Theatre solo debut on Friday, January 20, at 8:00pm. 'An Evening with Chad Hilligus' features a powerful program highlighting his international career with charming stories and standards from Bocelli to Bennett to Broadway. Chad will be joined by Musical Director Christopher Marlowe, along with international soprano Lauren Jelencovich and other featured guests. 

The McCallum Theatre is proud to announce that the U.S. National Tour of ANNIE, now in its third smash year, will play three performances - Tuesday, January 10, at 8:00pm and Wednesday, January 11, at 2:00pm and 8:00pm. Directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin for the 19th time, this production of ANNIE is a brand new incarnation of the iconic Tony Award®-winning original. ANNIE has a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin. All three authors received 1977 Tony Awards® for their work.  Choreography is by Liza Gennaro, who has incorporated selections from her father Peter Gennaro's 1977 Tony Award®-winning choreography.  

The McCallum Theatre presents Asleep at the Wheel and "Merry Texas Christmas, Y'all!" on Sunday, December 18, at 7:00pm.Asleep at the Wheel has recorded two albums of Texas-centric holiday music through its four-decade history, but it was just a few years ago that the group launched this first-ever western swing holiday concert. Expect a wonderful evening that combines Asleep at the Wheel's most popular songs, new material, and holiday favorites such as "Christmas in Jail," "Merry Texas Christmas, Y'all," "Mele Kalikimaka," "Swingin' Silent Night" and many more.

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley- based award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company continues it 2016-2017 theatrical season with a production of 'Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks,' a popular two-character comedy/drama that will feature Loretta Swit and David Engel. The production will run from February 3 through 12, 2017 with eight performances at the Annenberg Theater in the Palm Springs Art Museum.The fully staged play will star Loretta Swit (best known for her role of Major Margaret 'Hot Lips' Houlihan on the beloved television show 'M*A*S*H') and actor and Coyote StageWorks Founding Board and Company Member David Engel.

The Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway, where Elvis and Priscilla spent their honeymoon, invites you to a unique holiday celebration of 'The King'. Well, the other one. A ROCK A HOLLY CHRISTMAS SHOW lands at the unique Palm Springs getaway on Saturday, December 10th. Guests will have the chance to tour Elvis' private desert home and enjoy a special Holiday Concert with famed Elvis Impersonator Peter Alden in the hideaway's living room.

The McCallum Theatre presents Johnny Mathis and "60th Anniversary Tour Christmas Concert" with special guest Gary Mule Deer on Friday, December 16, and Saturday, December 17, with both performances at 8:00pm. A Johnny Mathis Christmas showcases the legendary, award-winning vocalist and performer with his quartet and a 31-piece orchestra. The concert features favorites from Mathis' many beloved and best-selling holiday albums, plus a selection of Mathis' pop music hits. You'll hear such yuletide classics as 'It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas,' 'Winter Wonderland' and 'White Christmas' delivered with the inimitable Mathis styling. Joining Johnny is the hilarious comedian Gary Mule Deer, a McCallum favorite.

The McCallum Theatre presents "Christmas with the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain" on Sunday, December 11, at 7:00pm. For more than 30 years, the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain has been the premier group of all-singing, all-strumming ukulele players who believe that all genres of music are available for reinterpretation (as long as they are played on the ukulele). Going from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana, via Otis Redding to Spaghetti Western soundtracks, the Orchestra takes the audience on a world tour. 

On the heels of 'Casa Valentina,' its enormously successful first production of the season, Dezart Performs will present the uproariously funny black comedy, Clybourne Park, a play written as a spin-off to Lorraine Hansberry's 1959 classic play A Raisin in the Sun which focuses on cultural and racial issues in a Chicago community. As described by The Washington Post during the 2011-12 season of the Seattle Repertory production, the play 'applies a modern twist to the issues of race and housing and aspirations for a better life….and is one of its feistiest, funniest evenings in years.' Clybourne Park has received multiple prestigious awards including the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play and the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Everyone deserves to see a great production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC in their lifetime. For those who attended the Jack O'Brien production last night at The McCallum, who have never seen one before, they are still waiting. It is a gorgeous, lavish production. The sets and costumes are beyond incredible. The voices are incredible as well. And, if you were just looking at photo stills form the production, or perhaps listening to the cast recording, you might think you had reached Rodgers and Hammerstein Nirvana. However, this production lacked the two things essential to this beautiful story - honesty and any real sense of emotion. It was as cold as the Alps!! (I though long and hard about writing a negative review over Thanksgiving break - because, in particular, I didn't want to do any damage to The McCallum box office! However, I was assured the musical is sold out for the balance of the run - so no damage done - just calling it like I see it!)

Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' Mamma Mia!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, plays the McCallum Theatre for five performances as a part of its final farewell tour. Performances begin on Friday, December 2, and run through Sunday, December 4. Mamma Mia! is one of the most successful musicals of all time, the eighth longest running show in Broadway history and one of only five musicals to have run for more than ten years on Broadway. The West End production is now in its eighteenth year. To date, Mamma Mia! has been seen by more than 60 million people worldwide in 50 productions in 16 different languages.
