The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced a new partnership with The Second City, the famed Chicago-based sketch comedy company. The partnership draws on the respective strengths of each organization to extend the creative capacity, reach, and impact of both brands, and will result in new, original productions at the Kennedy Center and beyond.
Upon receiving the inaugural Bridge Award (Premio Puente) at Sin Muros, the Latina/o Theater Festival held at Stages Repertory last February, Gente de Teatro (Houston, TX) celebrates its 23rd season with a second comedy from Catalan playwright Jordi Galceran: Cancun. Every year without fail, two couples, intimate friends, spend their vacation in a remote location. However, what had always been a perfect scene turns into an intricate and provoking puzzle, drawing a thin line between fantasy and reality. In Cancun, everything seems possible, and the frustrations of every day become entangled with the dreams of what could have been.
According Deadline, actor/director Kevin Connolly shared that the upcoming GOTTI A REAL AMERICAN GODFATHER is set to be released on June 15. John Travolta is set to star as Teflon Don.
