Carries a 25+ song list and sings in Patsy’s signature style while bringing emotional depth to the character. NOTE: Previous experience playing the role is a strong plus. The role will be understudied.
LOUISE SEGER – CAST (Seeking Understudy): Female, Caucasian, 40-60. A fan of Patsy Cline from Texas, she shares her memories of many years ago. Like her memories, Louise is timeless, stuck in the era of Patsy Cline's short but stellar career. The role will be understudied.

JENNA – Female, 20s-30s, Any ethnicity. A woman stuck in her life as an unhappily married waitress in a small town. Finds some happiness and expression through her meticulous baking of pies and her friendships with her coworkers, Dawn and Becky. She lives her life paycheck-to-paycheck, day by day, and wants nothing more than to get away and start fresh, unbeknownst to her destructive husband, Earl. Has a fantastic pop/rock voice with great range. The role will be understudied.
DAWN – Female, 20s, Any ethnicity. She's the youngest of the waitresses. Thick glasses and hair parted 14 centimeters to the left — eccentric is the nice way to say she’s slightly unusual and not so slightly OCD. She sets the tables, painstakingly ensuring each salt and pepper shaker is equidistant from the napkin holder. Has an excellent pop/rock/folk voice. The role will be understudied.
BECKY – Female, late 30s-early 50s, Black. The oldest of the three waitresses. Irreverent, irascible, been there, made it back, and somehow kept her forward and sometimes wicked sense of humor with excellent comedic timing. Has a soulful pop voice with an excellent pop belt. The role will be understudied.
DR. POMATTER – Male, 30s-early 40s, Any ethnicity. Handsome, endearing, and neurotic with a warm, if clumsy, manner. Jenna’s gynecologist with whom an unexpected extramarital affair is born. He has a quirky sense of humor and a big heart, even though he’s contributing to the affair. Impeccable comedic timing and moves well. Has a powerful pop/rock tenor that can easily navigate Sara Bareilles's musical style. The role will be understudied.
EARL – Male, 20s-30s, Caucasian. Jenna’s husband. Peaked in high school, handsome in a gruff way, but that face is clouded with broken dreams, drowned with cheap beer. Just enough narcissism mixed with stupidity to be a potent Molotov cocktail that can explode into unexpected anger one second and then turn into a sobbing mess the next. NOTE: Guitar playing is a big plus. The role will be understudied.
OGIE – Male, 30s, Any ethnicity. Strange, yet oddly lovable. He becomes slightly obsessed with Dawn (in a hilarious yet endearing way) after she goes on a 5-minute date with him. Quirky, incredibly persistent, and odd, yet kind. Has excellent comedic timing and an excellent pop/rock tenor voice. The role will be understudied.
JOE – Male, 60s-70s, Any ethnicity. The owner of the diner where Jenna, Dawn, Becky, and Cal work. A seemingly old, curmudgeonly man with a soft spot for Jenna (and her pie), but picks when that warmth allows itself to be shown. A sarcastically funny and no-nonsense guy with a keen ability to read people. Very funny. The role will be understudied.
CAL – Male, 40s, Any ethnicity. A chef at the diner. A “Salt of the Earth” guy’s guy surrounded by gals. Brash, impatient, unsentimental, but somehow charming. Should have a strong pop/rock voice with incredible comedic chops. Has a strong contemporary baritone singing voice in Sara Bareilles's style and excellent comedic timing. NOTE: Will understudy the role of JOE.
LULU – Young Girl, 4-5 years old, Caucasian. Jenna’s daughter. A sweet, carefree child who appears in the last scene of the show. Confident and able to engage in a small amount of dialogue and movement on stage. Shorter than 42”. NOTE: The role will be double-cast.
ENSEMBLE – Any gender, 20s – 40s, Any ethnicity. Versatile, experienced performers to portray various Chorus parts and understudy Principals. Actors with dance backgrounds are desired. All must sing very well.

EDNA TURNBLAD – Male, 40 - 55, Caucasian. Tracy's big, blonde mother is a working housewife who has lost her confidence and dreams of being a plus-size clothing designer. She is boisterous and commanding. This role is performed in drag. The role will be understudied.
